Dallas Wings News Release
WHAT HAPPENED
The Dallas Wings practiced for a third day in a row today, having back-to-back practices on it's home practice court at College Park Center. Coach Agler said at the end of yesterday's practice that he wanted to keep building the defense and he made good on his statement, making it a focus of the day's activities. The team ran through defense centered 5-on-0 and defensive concentrated 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 against the practice squad during the day's session. Mixed into the practice routine were shooting drills and shooting games.
WHAT WAS SAID
"I think it's good for Coach Agler to come in and push me as an individual, I appreciate it. It means he sees something in me and wants it to be produced on the floor." - Kaela Davis
"It's definitely a lot to learn, but I think I'm learning pretty quickly, you have to. You have be able to adapt, so I'm listening to everything they have to say. " - Arike Ogunbowale
"It feels really good right now. I think getting the first couple of days under your belt are important to get those jitters out. I was able to finish a little better today than I was yesterday, so I'm just excited to keep moving forward." - Megan Gustafson
"Tomorrow we'll be off, so it's recovery for the players and then we'll come back in and have three more practices and we'll get ready for Monday. By that time it's going to be important to see them play live against other people. We're getting some quality leadership from some of our players, I call that the interior leadership from Skylar, Tayler, Glory and Theresa. Those players have been around the block awhile. They're really doing well. They're helping the younger players, keeping us focused and carrying my message over to the team and keeping it on the front burner. I think that's really important." - Head Coach Brian Agler
