Wine Tasting Party to benefit the American Heart Association

August 26, 2009 - Eastern League (EL1)
New Britain Rock Cats News Release

All ladies are invited out to the ballpark for a night of baseball and wine - all while helping raise money for the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Campaign - as the New Britain Rock Cats will host the first-ever Divas at the Diamond charity wine tasting event at New Britain Stadium. The event will be held on Thursday, September 3rd from 6:00-8:00 P.M.

For just $25, ladies will be able to enjoy a variety of wines and hors d'oeuvres in the upper level of the Best Buy Picnic Area, located on the third base side of the field. The package also includes a Diva Night gift bag and a field box ticket for the game in which the Rock Cats take on the Reading Phillies at 6:35 P.M. There will also be opportunities to win exciting prizes from local Rock Cats' partners.

Proceeds from the Divas at the Diamond event will benefit the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Movement. Fans are encouraged to wear red in support of the Go Red Campaign as well as the Rock Cats.

According to the American Heart Association, the Go Red For Women Movement celebrates the energy, passion and power women have to band together to wipe out heart disease - the number one killer of women in the United States - and stroke.

Ladies are encouraged to gather their friends and have a unique Girls' Night Out at the stadium - as the Rock Cats battle for a playoff spot in the Northern Division - in support of the American Heart Association's effort to battle a serious and deadly disease.

The Rock Cats request that all interested in attending this event RSVP by September 1. For more information or to reserve a spot at the event, please contact the Rock Cats at (860) 224-8383.
