Wilson Called up to Rapid City

Southaven, Miss. - The Mississippi RiverKings are pleased to announce that David Wilson has been called up to the Rapid City Rush of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

"We are obviously very happy for 'Willy'," Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser said. "It's a very well deserved honor for him and we wish him the best of luck."

The 6'1 netminder from Caledon East, Ontario was acquired from the Augusta Riverhawks on November 21 for cash considerations. In 21 games with the 'Kings and Riverhawks, the University of Maine product had a record of 12-6-2 with a 2.92 goals against average and a 90.5 save percentage.

In addition to Wilson's call-up, the RiverKings announced that defenseman Matt Russo has been activated from the injured reserve. The Mississauga, Ontario native had been on the IR since sustaining a leg injury in the December 3 matchup against the Knoxville Ice Bears. In 10 games with the RiverKings, the rookie blueliner recorded 20 penalty minutes.

To make room for Russo, the RiverKings placed defenseman Paul D'Agostino on injured reserve. The fifth-year pro has played in 38 games for the 'Kings this season and has 2 goals and 6 assists.

With Chev Wilson's return to the lineup this weekend, the Mississippi RiverKings announced today that Cameron Sault has been placed on waivers.

The native of Ohsweken, ON played in 38 games with the RiverKings this season, tallying 3 goals and 15 assists.

The "˜Kings return home to take on the Louisiana IceGators on February 18th at 7:05 on a special night at the Landers Center. Special pup tickets can be purchased through the RiverKings front office.
