Wilkes-Barre Assigns Seven to Nailers

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announced today that they have received seven players from their AHL affiliate the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Forwards Andrew Lord, Andrew Orpik, Mikeal Bedard, David Marshall and Alex Smigelski, defenseman Kyle Bushee, and goaltender Patrick Killeen will all report to the Wheeling.
Lord, returns to Wheeling for his third season in the friendly city. Last season Lord played in 70 games with the Nailers scoring 36 points (17G,19A). Andrew completed his 2009-10 season in Rochester (AHL) playing in 3 games and earning 17 penalty minutes.
Orpik, the brother of Pittsburgh Penguin Brooks Orpik, comes to Wheeling after playing his rookie season in Las Vegas (ECHL) and San Antonio (AHL) in 2009-10. While in Vegas, Orpik played in 35 games scoring 22 points with 10 goals. In 22 games in the AHL Orpik scored 5 points with 1 goal and 4 assists.
Marshall, the Buffalo MN native, comes to Wheeling after playing in 55 games last season with the Charlotte Checkers (ECHL) and 15 games with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL). While in Charlotte, Marshall scored 34 points with 23 goals and 11 assists. While in Lake Erie he scored 3 points with 2 goals and an assist.
Bushee will see his second season in Wheeling after being acquired from Johnstown in a trade. The Otsego, MI native played in 59 games with the Nailers scoring 15 points and 52 penalty minutes in 2009-10.
Goaltender Killeen, played in Brampton of the OHL last season with a 23-25-13 record. The Carp, Ontario native will hope to make his pro debut with the Nailers this fall.
