Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals announced Sunday that they have been assigned forward Eric Lampe by their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, and have added forward Alex Curran to their training camp roster. The Jackals also announced the releases of forwards Marco Desveaux and Darick St. Marie from their tryout agreements.
A rookie, Lampe comes into this season with limited, but successful, professional experience. Playing for Jackals head coach Malcolm Cameron last season with the Florida Everblades (ECHL), Lampe scored three goals in the Everblades' playoff series against the Jackals in the first round of the 2010 Kelly Cup Playoffs.
Before turning pro, the Madison, Wis. native played four seasons for Quinnipiac University (NCAA, D-1). In his senior year of 2009-2010, Lampe topped the team with 24 assists in his senior year while producing 37 points, second best on the Bobcats.
Perth-Andover, New Brunswick product Alex Curran enters his rookie season after four years at St. Lawrence University (NCAA, D-1). Curran improved each season in point production, totaling 10, 13, 17, and 22 points from his freshman to senior year respectively.
Curran played one game at the end of the 2009-2010 season with the Crunch.
The Jackals practice at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the First Arena Recreational Rink.
