BEAUMONT, TX (October 10, 2007) - Texas Wildcatters Head Coach and V.P. of Hockey Operations Malcolm Cameron announced that defenseman Cleve Kinley has been assigned to the Wildcatters from the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were undisclosed.

Kinley, 23, is a 2007 graduate of UMass-Lowell (NCAA) where he played four years. The Powell River, BC, native played one game with the Griffins without registering a point and three more with the Muskegon Fury of the UHL last season following the completion of his college career. He notched two assists and two PIM with Muskegon.

"Cleve has great poise with the puck and is very good on the power play," said Cameron, "I recruited him this summer and am very excited to know he's heading our direction."

Kinley registered 15 goals and 50 assists in 137 games at UMass-Lowell over his collegiate career

Cameron also announced that goalie Miro Kopriva has been recalled by AHL Houston and several forwards have been traded.

Forwards Brad Bonello and Bobby Chaumont have been traded to Dayton and Ryan Menei and Brett Pilkington have been traded to Mississippi.

With the addition of Kinley, the current active Wildcatters roster stands at 25. The first of two preseason games versus the Alaska Aces tonight at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, AK at 10:15 pm Central Time, with another scheduled for Thursday night at the same time.

Opening Day for the ECHL's 20th Anniversary Season will be Oct. 18 when the Johnstown Chiefs host the Wheeling Nailers in a rematch of Game 7 from the first-ever ECHL Finals.
