Wildcatters Bolster Blue Line with Trade for 6'7'' State

Beaumont, TX (February 4, 2007) Wildcatters Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations Malcolm Cameron announced that the team has acquired defenseman Jeff State from the Reading Royals in exchange for financial considerations.

State, 27, played in 31 games with Reading this season. He registered three assists and 57 penalty minutes. State played in Reading last season scoring three goals and six assists for nine points along with 145 penalty minutes in 59 games. He also skated in nine AHL contests, splitting time with Bridgeport and Hershey gaining two assists. The six foot seven, 244 pound native on Buffalo, NY attended Merrimack College. He began his professional career in 2002-03 with Charlotte and also played with their AHL affiliate Hartford.

The Texas Wildcatters are the ECHL affiliate for the AHL's Houston Aeros. The next Wildcatters home game is on Friday, February 16 vs. the Pensacola Ice Pilots.
