Texas Wildcatters News Release
BEAUMONT, TX (August 3, 2004) â Texas Wildcatters Head Coach Robert Dirk announced today the team has traded the rights to forward Ashlee Langdone to the Bakersfield Condors for the rights to forward Andrew Ianiero.
The 23-year-old Ianiero (EYE-uh-NARE-oh) has been selected to the ECHL All-Star Game in each of his first two seasons of professional hockey. He had 18 goals and 38 assists for 56 points in 59 games while also leading the Condors in plus/minus (+15) last season. The 6-foot, 200 pound Hamilton, ONT native was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the fifth round (154th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
"To get a two-time ECHL All-Star who can put the puck in the net you have to give up something," said Dirk. "Ashlee, individually, had a very successful season but we need to address our lack of scoring."
The Wildcatters will open their second season on the road against the defending ECHL Eastern Conference Champion Florida Everblades. The home opener is Saturday, October 30 against the Louisiana IceGators. Season tickets for the 2004-05 season are now on sale. For as little as $50.00, you can reserve your seat for the second year of Wildcatters hockey in Southeast Texas.
