Wildcats to hold tryout February 11th

South Georgia Wildcats News Release


ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats arenafootball team announced that they will hold an open tryout for the 2006 season on Saturday, February 11th. The one day event will take place at the Albany James H. Gray Civic Center located at 100 West Oglethorpe Blvd. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the tryout will begin at 8:30 a.m. All position players are welcome to attend.

Potential players will participate in one-on-one and three-on-three non-contact drills as well as being tested on the 40-yard sprint, 20-yard short shuttle and other agility drills. The tryout will be conducted indoor on artificial turf. All participants are required to bring athletic shoes (indoor turf shoes preferably) and workout wear for the tryout. Participants must be 18 years of age or older and must sign an injury waiver form to participate.

Participants can pre-register by visiting the Wildcats football offices at 230 South Jackson Street, Suite 356 (Arthur K. Williams Microbusiness Center). The cost to pre-register is $40 and can be paid by cash or money order. The fee will be $50 the day of the tryout. The tryout will be open for viewing to the public and all media.

The Arena Football League is entering its 20th season and the South Georgia Wildcats are entering their second season in Albany, GA. The Wildcats will kickoff the 2006 season against Tennessee Valley Vipers on Saturday, April 8th at the Albany Civic Center. Wildcats season tickets are now on sale starting at just $70.
