Wildcats to air games on Real Rock 97.3

ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats reached an agreement with Clear Channel Albany to serve as the radio home of the Wildcats this season it was announced today by Wildcats General Manager Mike Storen and Clear Channel Albany Vice President General Manager John Richards.
"We are extremely excited about the Clear Channel Albany and South Georgia Wildcats partnership," stated Richards. "This agreement allows Wildcats fans from Albany, Tallahassee, Valdosta, Tifton, Americus, Dothan, Moultrie, Bainbridge, Thomasville and other cities within the 100,000 watt regional coverage of WRAK to become loyal Wildcats fans. The potential fan base is staggering."
In addition to being the official radio home of the team, the Wildcats will air all of their regular season games on WRAK Real Rock 97.3. Real Rock 97.3 disk jockey James "Doubledown" Howard will serve as the play-by-play voice of the Wildcats. Howard worked for Orlando's sports leader 740 The Team and served as a public address announcer for the Arena Football League Orlando Predators.
"This partnership will prove to be long lasting and mutually beneficial relationship," said Howard. "The product that is arena football and the South Georgia Wildcats will breathe new life into the region, giving us all a reason to cheer."
Storen indicated that a strong working relationship with a key radio entity is the cornerstone to building a successful franchise. "Clear Channel's Real Rock 97.3 is a 100,000 watt South Georgia media leader and we are excited to be working with Clear Channel and in particular with "Doubledown" as our play-by-play announcer."
The Wildcats are entering their fourth season in the arena football league and their first in Albany, Georgia. The Wildcats will kickoff the 2005 season against in-state rival Macon Knights on April 9th at the Albany Civic Center. Wildcats season tickets are now on sale starting at just $70.
