Los Angeles Wildcats News Release

HOUSTON - The Los Angeles Wildcats announced their season captains for the 2020 campaign on Friday.

Linebacker Anthony Johnson, quarterback Josh Johnson, offensive lineman Storm Norton and defensive back Jack Tocho were the players selected for the 2020 honors. The captains were voted on by the players.

"Every player, they have exemplified what the Wildcats are about. What they bring to the table as far as leadership, experience, play-making ability. They've been great in the lockerroom and they've stepped up their game high enough to have their peers vote them highest honor as a 2020 LA Wildcats captain," head coach Winston Moss said

Los Angeles will also have a fifth captain during the season, called the 'Wildcat Captain', which will rotate week-by-week. This post will be voted on by Moss based upon practice or previous game performance.

"I take full credit for that (idea)," Moss said with a smile. "There were so many close votes on the offense and defense to where I felt as though leaving one guy off just cause he was one vote one was ... I said, 'let me throw a wild card, let me throw a 'Wildcat Captain' every week based upon how he works.'"

For Week 1 vs. Houston, linebacker Tre Williams will serve as Wildcat Captain.

The Wildcats kick off their season on Saturday vs. the Roughnecks. Kick off is slated for 2p PT.
