The 2020 XFL opens on Saturday, February 8 with the DC Defenders hosting the Seattle Dragons at Audi Field.
The season-opener between the Defenders and Dragons begins at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday and will be broadcast on ABC.

Not only is Week 1 on Saturday, Feb. 8 the first game in Defenders history, it's the first football game held at Audi Field, and the first professional outdoor football game in Washington, D.C. since the Washington Redskins played their final game at RFK Stadium on Dec. 22, 1996.

The Defenders are lead by Pep Hamilton, former offensive coordinator at Stanford, Michigan and with the Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns. Leading the Defenders offense is quarterback Cardale Jones, who led the Ohio State Buckeyes to the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2015. The Defenders' defense is led by former Florida Gators safety and first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft Matt Elam.
On the other side of the Defenders in the XFL season-opener are the Seattle Dragons, coached by former Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn. The Dragons will be lead by former Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers and wide receiver Keenan Reynolds, who starred at quarterback at the Naval Academy from 2012 until 2015.
The two teams practiced together during XFL training camp in Houston and scrimmaged against each other at the end of camp. No official score was kept, but the game was competitive, with the two teams exchanging leads multiple times.
What time does Defenders vs. Dragons kickoff at?
Kickoff for Week 1 between the Defenders and Dragons takes place at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 8. Audi Field gates open 90 minutes before kickoff. The Defenders FanFest and the Defenders official tailgate at The Sandlot both begin at 11 a.m. ET.
