Wildcats add new players

South Georgia Wildcats News Release


ALBANY, GA- The South Georgia Wildcats announced Friday the addition of 2 players to their roster.

WR/DB Matt Jackson (5'10, 200) is a 2-year veteran on af2 from the University of Florida, and OL/DL Lunda Wells (6'2, 325) is in his rookie season out of Southern University. "Both of these players will help to boost an already very strong and exciting football team," General Manager Darren McPhail said. "We look forward to the contributions that Matt Jackson and Lunda Wells will make to the Wildcats as we move into the stretch run of the 2007 season."

DB Pierre Lee (6'0, 190, Va. St.) has been placed on injured reserve as well as OL/DL Brandon Washington (6'4, 305, LSU).

The Wildcats are currently ranked 4th in the af2 Coach's Poll and 1st in the South Division at 3-1. They travel to Hidalgo, Texas tonight to face the 3-1 Rio Grande Valley Dorados. They return home next week, May 12 to host the Florida Firecats in a pivotal division match-up. Tickets are available by contacting the Albany Civic Center Box Office at 229-435-2849.
