Wild Things Sign Two First Basemen to 2015 Roster

Washington, PA-January 15, 2015-The Washington Wild Things' roster continues to take shape -- the team announced the signing of first basemen Tyler Peterson and Joey Miller for the 2015 season today.

Peterson, a 6'4'' right-handed first baseman, played in 15 games with the St. Paul Saints of the American Association in 2014. The Eden Prairie, MN native played collegiate baseball at the University of St. Thomas for two years. He finished with Conference MVP honors and was awarded the NCAA Division III All-American and Minnesota Intercollegiate Athlete Conference Player of the Year in 2014. Prior to attending St. Thomas, he played at Northern Iowa Community College. Peterson is one of 13 members in the NIACC 100-hit club and is tied for ninth on the school's all-time hit list with 112.

Miller spent the 2014 season with the Rosewell Invaders of the Pecos League. In 33 games, he produced a .357 batting average combined with 41 hits, five doubles, three home runs and 18 RBI. He played for two seasons at Concord University in Athens, WV. In 2014, Miller was rewarded with the Mountain East Conference Player of the Year honor and finished as an All-American and All-Region selection. While playing for the Mountain Lions (2013-2014) he helped lead the team to one league title and an NCAA Tournament berth. Before Concord, the Hagerstown, MD product competed for two seasons at Frederick Community College.

The Washington Wild Things open their 14th season in the Frontier League against the Schaumburg Boomers on Friday, May 15th at 7:05 p.m. Season tickets for the 2015 season are available now.
