Wild Recalls Wellman from Aeros

HOUSTON --- The American Hockey League's (AHL) Houston Aeros, affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild, today announced that Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher has recalled forward Casey Wellman to Minnesota.

Wellman, 23 (10/18/87), has posted three points (2-1-3) in six games for Houston this season. He scored the overtime game-winner at Oklahoma City on Oct. 15.

A 6-foot-0, 186-pound native of Brentwood, Calif., Wellman began the season with Minnesota, playing in one game, Oct. 8, against Carolina. Last season, Wellman signed as a free agent with the Wild on March 16, and totaled four points (1-3-4) in 12 games with Minnesota. An undrafted free agent out of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Wellman wears No. 17 with the Wild.

The Wild hosts the Washington Capitals tonight at 7 p.m.in a game that will be shown live in the U.S. on the NHL Network.

Houston plays another three-in-three set, this time featuring a trio of Lone Star Faceoff series contests, beginning Friday at San Antonio. The Aeros then visit the Texas Stars on Saturday before hosting the Stars Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
