Wild prospects tourney roster full of Aeros

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club will participate in the 2006 NHL Centre I.C.E. Prospects Tournament, in Traverse City, Mich., September 8-12. Wild prospects will compete in the tournament's Western Conference with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues. The Atlanta Thrashers, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning will play in the tournament's Eastern Conference.

Nine of the 20 players spent at least part of the 2005-06 season with the Aeros - goaltender Miroslav Kopriva, defensemen Shawn Belle, Clayton Stoner (pictured) and A.J. Thelen, and forwards Ryan Hamilton, Danny Irmen, Peter Olvecky, Benoit Pouliot and Roman Voloshenko. Aeros Head Coach Rob Daum and Assistant Coach Matt Shaw will coach Minnesota's team.

Fans can visit www.wild.com for game results and highlights from the tournament. Per tournament rules, each team may only have a maximum of four players with one year of professional experience each. In order to participate, all skaters must have been born no later than 1983; goalies are exempt from this restriction.

Minnesota is set to open its 2006 Training Camp, presented by Wells Fargo, on Friday, September 15 at 10:00 AM at Parade Ice Garden in Minneapolis. A complete training camp schedule will be announced prior to the start of training camp.
