
Wild Look to Breakout vs. RiverCity on Saturday

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) will look to get their first win of the 2009 season vs. the same team they got their first win of 2008 against. On Saturday, the Wild will take on the RiverCity Rage for the first of three battles this season. The Rage enters the game with a 3-0 record after playing teams with a combined 2-4 record.
The Wild come into this week with the #2 rated pass offense in the league averaging 225.6 yards per game. The Wild are 5th in total offense with 258.5 yards per game. Wide receiver Clinton Solomon has dominated opponents with 17 receptions for 310 yards and five touchdowns.
Leading the Rage at quarterback is 2007 United Indoor Football (UIF) MVP Ben Sankey. Sankey saw his first action of the season last week in the Rage?s 59-20 victory over Saginaw. Sankey passed for 144 yards and 4 touchdowns on 12-of-16 passing. QB Dixie Wooten passed for 127 more yards and three touchdowns last week.
The team?s leading receiver is Maurice Avery, who has caught 18 passes for 218 yards and six touchdowns. Hurtiss Chinn has hauled in 16 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Rage is only allowing 157.3 yards per game, which ranks fourth in the IFL. The team?s leading tackler is 2008 UIF All-Star Joe Bevis. Bevis has recorded 18.5 tackles, while lineman Xvavie Jackson has 3.5 sacks.
The Wild will return to Hartman Arena on May 2 to face Quincy Carter and the Abilene Rough Riders.
