Wichita Wild News Release
The Wichita Wild will hit the road for the second time in the young season as the Wild travel to Omaha to take on the Beef on Saturday night. The Wild fell to 0-4 last Friday with a 54-47 loss at home to West Texas while Omaha fell to 2-2 with a loss at Sioux Falls. Kickoff for the game is set for 7:05 pm.
The Wild played arguably their best complete game last week vs. West Texas. Wild QB Brandon Walker completed 11 of 23 passes for 99 yards and three touchdowns. He also added a 30-yard touchdown run. The Roughnecks took control of the game following a safety in the 4th quarter. Wild kick returner Randy Kelly leads the IFL in return yards with 396. Wild DB Rashad Washington sits 6th in the league in tackles with 32.5.
A blocked field goal returned for a touchdown in the third quarter was the big difference maker in the Omaha's 48-38 loss to the Sioux Falls Storm this past Sunday. Despite the loss, the Beef led many statistical categories including a 276-223 advantage in total offense. That was spearheaded by an aerial attack by James McNear who completed 29 of his 41 passes for 242 yards and three touchdowns. The Beef's R.J. Rollins sits third in the IFL in rushing with 150 yards.
The game can be heard on 1330-AM KNSS with pregame coverage starting at 6:50 pm. Become a fan of the Wild on Facebook by visiting www.facebook.com/wichitawild and clicking "Like" at the top of the page.
