Wild Alums Skate in NCAA Tourney

Wenatchee, WA. - The NCAA Division One hockey tournament has begun and the Wenatchee Wild is well represented, with seven graduates participating in the tournament with their respective schools.

Skating for the Canisius Griffs are Chris Rumble and Duncan McKellar. Rumble had 2 goals and 5 assists in 14 games this season, while McKellar scored 3 goals and added 10 assists in 36 games.

Mike Voran and Eric Johnson skate for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Voran had 4 goals and 7 assists in 31 games this season, while Johnson scored 2 goals and 2 assists in 27 games.

Playing for the Minnesota State Mavericks is Evan Mosey. Mosey scored 4 goals and 4 assists in 25 games this season.

Brandon Burrell and Nic Dowd skate for the St. Cloud State Huskies. Burell has appeared in 11 career games with 0 points. Dowd scored 14 goals and 25 assists in 39 games this season.

Rumble played with the Wild two seasons ago, the others appeared with the Wild during the franchise's first two seasons. Voran, Mosey, Burell and Dowd also played on the Wild's Robertson Cup team in 2010. Wild assistant Coach Chris Clark said "We're excited for all of them to have the opportunity to play in the tournament."

The NCAA tournament runs through April 11th and 13th, with the Frozen Four being played at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
