Wild Add Talent and Experience to QB Position

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) has added veteran quarterback Dixie Wooten to the roster for the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs. This is Wooten?s seventh season of professional football which included stops in the NFL and other indoor leagues.

Wooten was acquired by the Wild after being released by the RiverCity Rage of the IFL. Wooten started 10 games for the Rage this season and is amongst the league leaders in every passing category. Wooten has passed for 1819 yards (6th in the IFL) and 41 touchdowns (6th in IFL), and his passer rating of 107.4 ranks 2nd in the IFL . Wooten has thrown only seven interceptions on 265 pass attempts this season.

Prior to joining the Rage, Wooten spent the first part of the 2008 season with the Baltimore Mariners of the American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) before being traded to the Carolina Speed, who also plays in the AIFA. In 2007, Wooten played for the Cen-Tex Barracuda?s of the Intense Football League.

Wooten spent the 2004-2006 seasons playing in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL). He played for the Kate Copperheads (2006), Rome Renegades (2005), and Oklahoma Crude (2004).

The Houston, TX native was in mini-camp with the Minnesota Vikings in 2003 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 2002.
