
Wiemken's 18-Save Shutout Leads Bruins to 4-0

AUSTIN, MN - It has been 433 days since the last time Bismarck visited the City of Austin, and the Bruins welcomed them back with a 4-0 shutout at Riverside Arena.
Coming into the evening, the Bobcats sat 2 points out of a playoff position and looked to claw their way back in, the Bruins however would make that a difficult task. Dylan Cook would get the night started with his 12th goal of the season just nine minutes into the night as Austin Salani and Josh Giuliani would combine on the assist. That would be the lone goal of the period as the Bruins' defense and Trent Wiemken would hold the Bobcats' offense to only 6 shots of goal during the first.
Wasting no time, the Bruins would extend their lead to two as just twenty-nine seconds into the second period Josh Giuliani would find a rebound off the body of Linards Lipskis to make it then a 2-0 game. Austin Salani and Dylan Cook would each pick up their 2nd assist on the night. At the 8:26 mark of the period, Walter Zacher's team-leading 23rd goal of the season would make it a 3-0 lead as his shot would redirect off a Bobcats and sneaked past Lipskis. Not letting off the gas, the Bruins would add one more in the closing two seconds of the period as Giuliani would pick up his second goal of the night, 16th of the season, to make it a 4-0 lead after two periods of play.
From there it was all Trent Wiemken and the Bruins' defense. They would hold the Bobcats to 18 shots on goal and Wiemken would pick up his 12th win and 2nd shutout of the season.
The Bruins look to add to their Division lead tomorrow night as they look to complete the weekend sweep of the Bismarck Bobcats. Game time is set for 7:05 with a free post-game skate with the Bruins following the completion of the game.
