
Widener Earns Major League Promotion

As Major League Baseball officially begins the 2020 season, the Lexington County Blowfish will be represented on Friday night.
Taylor Widener (University of South Carolina), a member of the inaugural Lexington County Blowfish in 2015, has received the call and will be on the Opening Day roster for the San Francisco Giants.
Widener becomes the first Lexington County Blowfish, and the fifth Blowfish overall to appear in the major leagues.
In 2015, Widener made six starts and held a 1-2 record amassing 43 strikeouts and a 2.53 ERA. He was also selected to the Coastal Plain League All-Star Game in 2015.
