GLENDALE, AZ (December 26, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Wichita Thunder goaltender Torrie Jung has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending December 23, 2012.

Jung's recognition marks the third time this season that the Thunder have had a netminder named the weekly award winner (Kevin Regan won the honor Nov. 6 and Dec. 11).

Jung only had one start and decision during the week but saw action in two games stopping all 31 shots he faced. His first action of the week came on Wednesday night in relief of Regan during his team's 5-1 loss to Fort Worth. Jung played close to 15 minutes and stopped all eight shots he faced. The Nanaimo, British Columbia native then got the start against the Brahmas on Friday and made 23 saves in his team's 4-0 shutout victory.
