Christmas Day Storms Force Postponements

December 26, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

GLENDALE, AZ (December 26, 2012) - The Central Hockey League announced today that Wednesday's games between the Allen Americans and Wichita Thunder along with the Fort Worth Brahmas and Tulsa Oilers have been postponed.

A severe storm system that passed through North Texas and part of the mid-west on Christmas Day has left the roads unsafe for travel from the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

"We are very disappointed to have to cancel these two games," said Duane Lewis, CHL Commissioner. "But based on the road conditions in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and the immediate areas north of Dallas we fell that the roads are unsafe for passage and that any attempt to do so would put our clubs in harm's way."

A make-up for the Fort Worth/Tulsa game has been determined and the game will take place on Thursday, December 27 at 7:05 PM (CST). The make-up date for the Allen/Wichita game will be announced in the very near future.
