San Angelo Colts News Release
After Andres Rosales went the distance in game one for the WhiteWings, right-handed starter and pitching coach David Cross would do the same in game two. Cross threw a complete game, one run, six hit performance, issuing four walks, while striking out seven, totaling 113 pitches in the 6-1 WhiteWings victory.
It began as a pitching dual between Colts ace Ezequiel Astacio and David Cross who both faced the minimum through the first two innings. It was in the third where Rio Grande put up three on an RBI single by Javis Diaz, a Domenic Di Ricco RBI ground out and a RBI triple by Yeurys Tejeda to put the WhiteWings up 3-0. Rio added a solo run in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by Luany Sanchez to make it 4-0.
San Angelo put their lone run on the board in the top of the fifth when Butch Ballez grounded into a fielder's choice to make it 4-1. The WhiteWings added two more solo runs in the fifth and sixth on a Welinson Baez RBI double in the bottom of the fifth and a Roberto Rodriguez RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to make it 6-1, which would be the final.
On Monday, the Colts and WhiteWings go at it again in game three of this four game set. San Angelo sends out righty Chandler Barnard (6-2, 3.33), who is second in the ULB in ERA, against fellow righty Miseal DeJesus (4-5, 4.86). It all begins with the Kemps pre-game show beginning at 6:50 with the first pitch set for 7:05 on 1260 KKSA.
