Whitecaps FC Announce Single Match Tickets on Sale for April 16 & 23
March 30, 2011 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Vancouver Whitecaps FC News Release
VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC announced today individual match tickets for the April 16 and April 23 matches at Empire Field will go on sale Thursday, March 31 at 10 a.m. PT. Individual match tickets will range from $20 to $55 (including HST), plus applicable service charges and fees, and are available at all Ticketmaster Ticket Centres, online at Ticketmaster.ca or Charge-by-Phone: 1.855.6.GO-CAPS (1.855.646.2277).
¬ÅSingle match tickets are a great way for uninitiated fans to experience a Major League Soccer match for the first time, ¬Â said Whitecaps president Bob Lenarduzzi. ¬ÅOn March 19, both our team on the pitch and our supporters in the stands showed Empire Field will not be an easy place for teams to visit, but we ¬â¢ll need continued support from our fans to maintain that reputation. ¬Â
Saturday, April 16, will see the Blue and White face the Los Angeles-based Chivas USA followed by 2010 MLS Cup finalists FC Dallas on Saturday, April 23.
Teitur Thordarson ¬â¢s side began their inaugural Major League Soccer campaign on Saturday, March 19, at Empire Field earning a 4-2 victory over Toronto FC in front of a capacity crowd of more than 22,000. Following the opening match, the team travelled to Philadelphia, where they suffered a 1-0 defeat to the second year Philadelphia Union.
Whitecaps FC also announced today, in conjunction with the PNE, that after receiving feedback from supporters following the March 19 match, the gates to Empire Field will open 90 minutes prior to Saturday's 4:00 p.m. PT kickoff at 2:30 p.m. PT.
The early opening will give supporters a greater opportunity to enjoy the fan experience around the stadium, with earlier access to concessions, merchandise, and seating. Should the test run prove to be successful, both Whitecaps FC and the PNE will consider implementing an earlier opening for future matches at Empire Field.
