A FIRST!: The White Sox recorded their first shutout win of the season last night, in the process vaulted back into second place in the Pioneer League's Northern Division first half standings by one-half game over Missoula with three to play. GF rode the pitching of Kyle McCulloch (5IP, 4H, 10K, 0BB), Justin Cassel (3IP, 2H, 2K, 1BB), and Pat Feehan (1IP, 1H, 1K, 0BB) to a 5-0 triumph over the Osprey at Centene Stadium. McCulloch's season high ten strike-outs lifted him to his first victory of the season. The Sox hitting star was Mike Grace with a homer and RBI single. The victory was the White Sox first in the last four games and fourth in the past five games at home. It marked the first time that Missoula's been blanked this season. The Sox have an opportunity to even their record at 18-18 in the series finale against the Osprey tonight.

SANTILEZ PITCHES THE FINALE: 19 year old RHP Clevelan Santilez will make his 7th start of the season tonight as the White Sox and Osprey put the wraps on their three game series. Santilez brings a 1-3 record and 6.29 earned run average into this one. He was scintillating in a July 16 start against Idaho Falls won by the Sox 8-1, working 6 innings allowing one run on three hits while fanning 5. Santilez wasn't as effective in his last outing at Idaho Falls July 21 as he yielded four runs on four hits in 4.2 innings in a 7-6 win over the Chukars. Santilez didn't factor in the decision. He's allowed four or more runs in three of his last four starts. He's a native of Valencia, Venezuela who began the season at Class A Kannapolis of the South Atlantic League posting an 0-2 record and 6.85 ERA.

LEAGUE LEADERS: White Sox first baseman Chris Carter is setting the pace in the Pioneer League in homers (10), RBI (30), doubles (13), slugging percentage (.685), and extra- base hits (23). Carter sits second in hits (44), fourth in runs (25) and BA (.346). Great Falls RHP Ramon Sanchez leads the league in wins (5) and innings Pitched (39.1). He's tied for the Pioneer League lead in home runs allowed (6).

HOW THE SOX STACK UP: Great Falls is currently third in the league in hitting (.278), fourth in runs (187), second in hits (332), and first in homers (30). On the mound, the White Sox sit fifth of the league's eight teams in ERA (4.14). The club's defense is worst with a fielding percentage of .944 and a league high 80 errors. The Sox are third in the Pioneer League in double plays turned (35).

TRENDING: Last night's game ended a streak of five straight White Sox games being decided by one run. Last night marked the Sox first shutout win and Missoula's first shutout loss of the season. HEAD TO HEAD: Tonight marks the eighth of sixteen total regular season meetings between the White Sox and Osprey. Great Falls leads 4-3 entering this evening's series finale. The two clubs will meet again in Missoula for three July 30-August 1.
