Spokane Shock News Release
July 14, 2009 - Spokane, WA: The arenafootball2 league office announced today that WR Markee White earned the af2's Big Game Catch of the week.
With the Shock down 52-49 in the fourth quarter, QB Nick Davila found White in the endzone for the game winning touchdown. White, an af2 rookie, made a one-handed leaping catch and still managed to hang on to the ball even after DB Chris Royal sent him over the dasher boards.
"It was a great play. Nick put it in a spot where only I could catch it," White explained. "It's the kind of thing you dream about as a little kid."
Currently, White has 41 receptions - including 12 touchdowns - for 441 yards. The top-ranked Shock travel to Fresno, CA to take on the Central Valley Coyotes this weekend with live coverage beginning at 7 PM on 105.7 THE PEAK.
