Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Badgers and the Gophers have Paul Bunyan's Axe, the Michigan Wolverines and the Indiana Hoosiers have the Oak Bucket and now the Blizzard and the Milwaukee Iron have the Milk Can. The first ever "Battle for the Milk Can" will take place this Friday, July 17th at the Resch Center.
Every year the winner of the rivalry game that takes place at the Resch Center will lay claims to the Milk Can as proof of their arena football dominance in the state. Already the "Battle for the Milk Can" has sparked interest with Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett scheduled to announce a friendly wager on the outcome of Friday night's game believing that their respective team will be the first to claim the trophy.
Mayor Schmitt will be in attendance as the honorary captain for the coin flip and to present the Milk Can to the winning team after the game. All fans interested in seeing the Milk Can before the game are welcome to attend Wednesday's practice during media day where the trophy will be made available for pictures.
