Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, MB. - The 2020-21 Western Hockey League East Division schedule will be played in Regina this spring but that won't stop Manitoba hockey fans from participating in the Brandon Wheat Kings' popular 50/50 draws.
The WHL club has announced that beginning today, fans will have the opportunity to purchase 50/50 tickets in increments of $10, $20 and $50.
The goal of the Wheat Kings' 50/50 is to raise money for the club's Scholarship Foundation.
Tickets are available for purchasing by anyone 18 and over and in the province of Manitoba. Tickets can be purchased online at www.wheatkings.com/50-50. Each draw will take place every two weeks, with the first draw set to be made on Sunday, March 21st.
This will mark the first time in club history the Wheat Kings offer an online 50/50. Until now, 50/50 tickets were only sold during Wheat King home games at Westoba Place.
The new digital platform will allow fans to enter and pay online, and they are encouraged to follow the Wheat Kings on social media where the winning numbers will be announced.
The Wheat Kings and the WHL currently offer one of the most comprehensive scholarships in junior hockey. For each season played in the WHL, players are awarded with a one year post-secondary scholarship which includes tuition fees, textbooks and other compulsory fees. Recently, more than 400 players took advantage of their WHL Scholarship during the 2019-20 academic year.
Now that the first 50/50 draw is open, a copy of the rules and regulations and the link to enter can be found at wheatkings.com.
