Westward Bound This Weekend For Icemen

THE WEEK THAT WAS: The Ice went 2-1-0 last week with victories on the road at Youngstown and at home versus Lincoln, before falling to Fargo on Saturday night. With the four-point week, Indiana is now 21-4-1 in their last 26 games. The team hits the road this weekend where they sport a 12-6-1 clip compared to a 13-7-2 mark at the St. Vincent Sports Rink at Pepsi Coliseum.

THE "20" FRATERNITY: Indiana is the only team in the USHL with multiple 20-goal scorers as Peter Schneider (24 goals), Daniil Tarasov (22 goals) and Blake Coleman (21 goals) all are members of the 20-goal fraternity. Overall, Schneider is tied for second in the league, while Tarasov and Coleman are fourth and fifth respectively.

POWER RANGERS: Despite the 4-1 setback to Fargo on Saturday, the Ice remain the league's most potent offense as the team is averaging 3.71 goals/game and have 152 goals scored on the season which is 12 better than the next USHL club.

EUROPEAN VACATION: Austrian forward Peter Schneider posted his seventh multiple goal game of the season last week which leaves him one shy of the all-time Ice season record of eight set last year by Finnish forward Antti Roppo.

ICE TALK: Jon Gillies has won his last eight starts in net...Daniil Tarasov has nine points (2G, 7A) in his last five games and is tied for third in the league in points (47)...Peter Schneider has six points (5G, A) in his last four games...Blake Coleman leads all USHL players in points (60), assists (39) and plus/minus (+31) and has 14 points (6G, 8A) in his last ten games...Coleman, Nick Mattson (+23) and Schneider (+21) are first, third and fifth in the USHL in plus/minus...Dominic Panetta has an assist in back to back games.

TEAM SLATE: The Ice is 9-3-1 against the Western Conference...Indy is second at home (19.5%) and overall (20.5%) on the power play...The Ice has outscored opponents 51-30 in the first period.

ON CAMPUS: Mike Embach (07-08) and Kyle Bonis (07-08) combined for six points (2G, 4A) for Ferris State in a weekend sweep of UAH...Garrett Roe (04-07) and Nic Dowd (09-10) combined for four points (G, 3A) in an 8-2 win over UMD on Friday.
