
Western Conference Finals - Game 2 Preview: Guelph Storm at Saginaw Spirit

Game 2 of the Western Finals goes Saturday night at 7:05pm, as the Guelph Storm look to even the series before heading back to Guelph for games 3 and 4.
In game one of the Western Finals, the Guelph Storm started the scoring with a goal by captain Isaac Ratcliffe only 00:40s into the first period. The Spirit were able to tie the game around the 5 minute mark and bring a 1-1 tie heading into the 2nd period.
Saginaw scored two goals in the opening 6 minutes of the second period to give the Spirit a 3-1 lead before Sean Durzi scored a power play goal for the Storm. Later in the period, a shot by Alexei Toropchenko hit the post and looked very close to tying the game before the Spirit scored to make the game 4-2. After a lengthy review, the Spirit were awarded the goal and the Storm were down by two goals for the second time in the period. The Spirit were able to add another two goals in the second to give them a commanding 6-2 lead heading into the final frame.
Mason Millman scored around the half way mark of the third period to give the Spirit a 7-2 win and a 1-0 series lead.

Isaac Ratcliffe had a fantastic regular season for the Storm by scoring 50 goals and 32 assists for 82 points in 65 games played. Throughout the 1st round of the playoffs, Isaac scored 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points in the four game sweep over the Kitchener Rangers. In the 2nd round, Ratcliffe added 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in the 7 game series against the London Knights. After game 1 against the Saginaw Spirit, Isaac has collected 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points this playoffs.
Saginaw Spirit
Brady Gilmour scored 39 points in 64 games this regular season for the Spirit which included a career high 24 assists. In the 1st round of the playoffs, Brady collected 6 assists in the four game sweep over the Sarnia Sting.
