Westchester Knicks News Release

NEWARK, December 28, 2014 - Coming off an overtime heartbreaker in Grand Rapids, the Westchester Knicks were unable to find a win on the road despite a strong showing from Knicks forward Darnell Jackson, who tied his own season-high 23 points. Westchester handed Delaware its first win at home, with a final score of 110-95.

Delaware took advantage of a long stretch of meager shooting from Westchester, racking up an 18 point lead with under three minutes to go in the half. The Knicks had trouble finding their long-shot sweet spot, shooting 0-9 from beyond the arc in the first half. Westchester would trail the Sevens 63-47 heading into the locker room at the half.

Darnell Jackson tried to light a fire under his squad in the third quarter with a quick six points in six minutes, a total of 11 in the quarter. It would not be enough though as the Dubs continued to trail the Sevens heading into the fourth quarter 87-74, Westchester still unable to find their footing past the arc.

The Sevens were ultimately able to capitalize on a combination of shooting misfires from the Knicks, who were 0-14 in three point attempts, along with racking up a total of 31 points off of Westchester fouls.

Darnell Jackson finished with 23 points, also contributing nine rebounds. Markeith Cummings had 12 points and four rebounds; Ben Strong and Langston Galloway each with 10 points.

Sevens guard DJ Seeley led all scoring on the night with 25 points, also adding five rebounds and three assists. Jamal Jones followed with 18 points and eight rebounds. Center Drew Gordon had the only double double in the game with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

The Westchester Knicks return home to the Westchester County Center on Friday, Jan. 2 for a 1:00 p.m. match-up against the Maine Red Claws (12-3), the official affiliate of the Boston Celtics. The game will be broadcast on MSG Network.
