West Virginia Power Announces 2010 Schedule

Charleston, WV (October 7, 2009) - The West Virginia Power released their 2010 schedule on Thursday which includes Friday, April 16th Opening Night and a July 4th Weekend Celebration at Appalachian Power Park.

The 2010 season marks the sixth season of Power baseball at Appalachian Power Park. The team opens the season on the road against the Savannah Sand Gnats and the Charleston RiverDogs but returns home on April 16th to kick-off 2010 season against the Asheville Tourists. The team will be home for an eight game homestand with Asheville and the Greenville Drive through Friday, April 23rd. The homestand includes two Fireworks Nights, a Two-for-Tuesday, and a Buck Night.

The 2010 schedule features 12 Friday night games, 11 Thursday 'Buck Night' games and 9 Saturday night games. Power fans will also have a chance to see most of the SAL Northern & Southern Division teams as the Charleston RiverDogs and the Augusta GreenJackets are the only two of the 13 teams not making a trip to Appalachian Power Park this coming season.

The Power are currently finalizing the 2010 promotional calendar which will feature many of the time-tested promotions as well as some exciting new additions. Power fans can plan on seeing the return of popular promotions including Thursday Buck Nights, Two for Tuesdays, Friday night fireworks, Saturday giveaways, dog days, live entertainment and special appearances at the ballpark.

This fall, many more exciting announcements will be made including the date individual game tickets go on sale.
