(Jackson, TN) April 9th- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx made their home opener a successful one as the Diamond Jaxx sent Huntsville to their first loss of the season, defeating the Stars 9-6 before a crowd of 1,583 at Pringles Park.

The Diamond Jaxx jumped on Stars starter Steve Hammond (1-1), scoring five runs over the first three innings. Hammond lasted four innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Doug Fister (1-0) gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits over five innings of work to pick up the win. Craig James pitched the final 1 1/3 innings to nail down his first save of the season. Fister was the beneficiary of a nine run, twelve hit Diamond Jaxx attack. Jon Nelson had three hits and three RBI's while Luis Valbuena and Marshall Hubbard each homered and drove in two runs to pace the Jaxx offense. Adam Moore chipped in with two hits and two RBI's.

Game two of the five game series takes place on Thursday night at 7:05 CDT. Right-hander Rich Dorman (1-0) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Huntsville will counter with lefty Derek Miller (0-0 0.00).
