Bend Elks News Release
After being shut out by Klamath last night in Bend 1-0, the Elks could only generate one run Friday night in losing to the AppleSox 2-1 up in Wenatchee.
The Elks only run came in the 3rd on a leadoff double by Donald Collins who would eventually score on a Bo Walter ground out to 2nd. A shaky first inning for Elks starter Daniel Chavez as he gave up 2 runs in the first on 3 hits. That would be all the AppleSox would get off Chavez the rest of the night.
Chavez went 8 innings, giving up just the the 2 runs on 6 hits. The Elks also collected 6 hits on the night with Justin Maffei collecting 2 singles.
Game 2 of the 3 game series is Saturday Night up in Wentachee.
The Elks split squad team plays a double header at Vince Genna Stadium Saturday vs Baseball NorthWest. First game starts a 2pm, followed by a welcoming of the State Championship Little Leagues then game 2 starts at 5pm. Admission is free and concessions will be available on the BBQ deck through out the doubleheader.
