
Weigel Broadcasting Co. Airs Sky's First Ever Playoff

CHICAGO, September 17, 2013 "" The Chicago Sky announced Tuesday that Weigel Broadcasting Co. will air the Sky's first ever playoff game locally on The U Too. The Sky, who earned home court advantage after clinching the top spot in the Eastern Conference, will play this first playoff game on Friday, September 20 at 6 p.m. CT.
Weigel Broadcasting Co. partnered with the Sky, airing 21 of the Sky's regular season games over the course of the 2013 season on WCIU, The U and The U Too. The broadcasts reached Sky fans across the Chicagoland area, earning strong ratings across the market. The Sky's June 2 game earned a .9 HH rating, a 2 share in Live SD, a .4 rating and a 1 share with males aged 25-54.
"Weigel Broadcasting Co. quickly became part of the Sky family this season so we are thrilled to be extending the relationship into this historic playoff run," explained Adam Fox, Sky president and CEO. "Sky fans in the Chicago area will be able to go to The U Too, their home for Chicago Sky basketball, to be part of this exciting game."
The Sky, who finished the season at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 24-10 record will face the fourth ranked, defending WNBA champions, the Indiana Fever for the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The semifinals are set up in a best of three game series.
"We are excited to be a part of history, the broadcast on the first playoff game in Chicago Sky franchise history. This Sky team has captured the city's attention and made the WNBA take notice," explained Vice President and General Manager at WCIU, The U Bob Ramsey.
The Sky will rematch the Fever in game two of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday, September 22. The 2 p.m. CT game will air nationally on ESPN2. The Conference Finals and WNBA Finals will also air across the country on ESPN2.

The Sky is also hosting a Playoff Road Trip to Indianapolis leaving Sunday, September 22.
