Green Bay Gamblers News Release

The Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Brandon Kirk has committed to the University of Dartmouth of the Eastern College Athletic Conference. Dartmouth is coached by Bob Gaudet, who enters his 15th season behind the bench.
Brandon Kirk skated for the Colorado Rampage AAA program, and suited up for a handful of exhibition games for Green Bay last season. In 55 games with the Rampage, Kirk tallied 10 goals, 15 assists and 95 penalty minutes. Kirk has been a member of six state championship and four regional championships teams.
Kirk becomes the 18th Gambler on the 2011-2012 squad to commit to a NCAA Division I institution. Others include forwards Grant Arnold (Denver), Kyle Novak (Western Michigan), Alex Broadhurst (Nebraska-Omaha) Conner Honey (Denver), Nicholas Schilkey (Ohio State), Alex Kile (Michigan) Ville Jarvelainen (St Cloud St), Sam Herr (Notre Dame) Nolan LaPorte (Western Michigan), Sheldon Dries (Western Michigan) defensemen, Max Hartner (Air Force), Andy Ryan (Notre Dame), Dakota Mermis (Denver), Markus Lauridsen (St. Cloud St) Andy Welinski (Minnesota-Duluth) and goaltenders Adam Wilcox (Minnesota) and Ryan McKay (Miami of Ohio).
The Green Bay Gamblers are proud to announce Diamonds and Gold as the presenting sponsor for ladies night February 3rd at the Resch Center. Two lucky ladies in attendance will win gold chameleon bracelets.

The Gamblers have teamed up with Gandrud for the Rapid Fire Promotion. At each Bud Night one lucky fan will be chosen to participate in the Gandrud Auto Group Rapid Fire promotion. Fire enough pucks in the net and drive away in style
The Gamblers have teamed up with Bay Area Diamond for the $10,000 puck shot. This promotion will take place at selected games over the course of the year. Knock it through the hole and walk away $10,000 richer.
Come check out the Red Line Report at Anduzzi's Sports Club. Shows to starts at 7:00 PM. Host Jason Habeck and head coach Derek Lalonde will be talking Gamblers hockey. A player representative of the Gamblers team will also be in attendance.

Green Bay Gamblers versus Sioux Falls Stampede

Last meeting:
The Green Bay Gamblers and the Sioux Falls Stampede met twice last season and split the series 1-1. The Gamblers won game one in Sioux Falls 4-3. Four different Gamblers scored in the contest with Adam Wilcox picking up the win with 27 saves on 30 shots. The Stampede returned the favor at the Resch Center later in March shutting out the Gamblers 4-0.
Between the Pipes:
Veteran Adam Wilcox and rookie goaltender Mike Rotolo will be making the trip out to Sioux Falls on Friday night. More than likely, Wilcox will start his second game of the season. Currently the Green Bay netminder is 1-0. For the Sioux Falls stampede, the veteran Stephon Williams returns to the team. Last season, Williams saw action in 35 games going 20-7-6 including 4-1 last season in the playoffs.
Team Leaders
The Stampede are lead in scoring by Todd Skirving and Matt Van Voorhis, both tallying goals this season. The Gamblers are lead by veteran forwards David Goodwin with 3 goals and 1 assist and Alex Broadhurst with 2 goals and 3 assists.
Notes:
This will be the only meeting for these two teams in the 2011-12 regular season.
Green Bay Gamblers versus Dubuque Fighting Saints
(3-0) Eastern Conference (1-2) Eastern Conference
Last meeting:
The Green Bay Gamblers defeated the Dubuque Fighting Saints at the Resch Center October 8th, 2011 3-1. Scoring for the Gamblers were veteran forwards David Goodwin, Alex Broadhurst and Nolan LaPorte. Goaltender Ryan McKay recorded his second win of the season with 28 saves on 29 shots.
Between the Pipe:
Ryan McKay in his third season with the team is 4-5-1 against the Dubuque Fighting Saints with 2 wins coming this season. Matt Morris returned for his second season with the Fighting Saints. In two years, Matt Morris is 5-4 against the Green Bay Gamblers.
Team Leaders:
David Goodwin notch two game wining goals this season both of which were against the Fighting Saints. The first goal came with 11 seconds left in the season opener in Dubuque as the Gamblers escaped a dramatic game with a 3-2 win. Goodwin scored his second at the Resch Center last weekend in another close win for Green Bay 3-1. Zemgus Girgensons is the leading returning scorer for the Fighting Saints. Last season, the crafty forward scored 21 goals and 28 assist in 51 games.
Notes:
The Gamblers and Fighting Saints have played 6 out of their last 9 meaningful games against each other dating back to the Clark Cup Finals. Both teams enter the 2011-12 season highly touted. The Fighting Saints shift over to the Eastern Conference after a Clark Cup Championship in the franchise's first year back in the USHL, and the Green Bay have 18 players on the team's roster with college commitments.
Green Bay leads the season series 2-0
The Green Bay Gamblers and North Country Homes have teamed up for the first annual "Pack the Resch" promotion. North Country Homes is a family owned home builder offering Wisconsin modular, sectional, and single-wide homes since 1973. North Country Homes design center is located off Highway 29 in Bonduel.
This season a lucky fan will have a chance to shoot to win a modular house when the Gamblers reach 100,000 fans in attendance.

Ryan McKay has just 15 wins to become the all-time leader in wins for the Green Bay Gamblers. The Palantine, Illinois native has started the season 2-0 for Green Bay between the pipes with a 1.50 goals against average.
Returning for his third year, McKay is only one of three players on this years squad that were apart of the 2009-10 that captured both the Anderson and Clark Cups. During his rookie campaign, McKay posted a 14-8-2 record to accompany a 2.20 Goals Against Average and a .909 Save Percentage.
Last season the Miami of Ohio recruit led all USHL goaltenders in goals against average (2.00) and save percentage (.928). For his efforts, McKay was named 2nd team All-USHL. Internationally, McKay played for former Gamblers head coach Eric Rud (10-11) at the 2008 Under 17 Five Nations tournament in Slovakia. McKay is a product of the Chicago Young Americans hockey program.
Forward David Goodwin has scored a goal in each of the first three games this season for the Green Bay Gamblers. Out of the three, the St. Louis native has scored 2 game-winning goals. The first for Goodwin was scored with 11 seconds left in the season opener in Dubuque Iowa against the Fighting Saints, and the Second on opening weekend at the Resch Center against the Fighting Saints.
The Gamblers veteran has help teams win dramatic fashion in the past. During the 2008-2009 season, Goodwin helped the De Smet Jesuit Spartans capture the Mid States Hockey Association Challenge Cup. In the championship game versus 3-time defending champions C.B.C. Goodwin tallied three goals, the third was the game winner in overtime.
Former Green Bay Gambler Nate Guenin scored his first goal in the NHL Friday October 7th for the Anaheim Ducks in a 4-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Before skating for the Anaheim Ducks, Guenin had stints with the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Prior to his time in the NHL and AHL, Guenin played for Ohio State in the CCHA for 4 years.
Guenin played for the Green Bay Gamblers for during the 2000-01 and 2001-02 campaigns. In two seasons with Green Bay, Guenin played in 110 games scoring 6 goals and 22 assists and registering 150 penalty minutes in 2001.

NATE GUENIN SCORES HIS FIRST NHL GOAL
Starting Where He Left Off
Sophomore Anders Lee netted a pair of goals in his first weekend of action this season for Notre Dame against Minnesota-Duluth. Last season Lee scored 24 goals and 20 assist in helping the Fighting Irish reach the Frozen Four.
Game Winner
Former Green Bay Gambler Reed Seckel scored his first goal of the season for Northern Michigan in overtime to defeat the Wisconsin Badgers 3-2 last Friday night at the Kohl Center in Madison. Along with Seckel's goal, Former Gambler Reid Ellingson picked up the win for Northern Michigan with 27 saves on 29 shots on goal.
Ceccacci's First of the Year
Jeff Ceccacci scored his first goal of the season for American International in a loss to the Michigan Tech Huskies. Ceccacci`s goal was apart of a three goal first period for American International. The Huskies would eventually come back and win 4-3.
