Omaha, Neb. - After kicking off the 2011-2012 season with three straight home games, the Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) prepare for their first road contest of the year when the team heads up to Fargo this Saturday to battle the Force. Saturday's match-up is the Lancers only game of Week 3 USHL action.
Omaha (1-1-1, 3 pts.) is coming off a successful weekend last week, which saw the team claim three of a possible four standings points after a 1-0 shootout defeat to Fargo on Friday followed by the team's first victory of the season - a 2-1 triumph over the Sioux City Musketeers on Sunday.
The Lancers return to the frozen surface Saturday evening at the Scheels Arena in Fargo for Omaha's first goad game of the season. The Lancers posted a 14-13-3 road record a season ago and are 5-4-1 lifetime in 10 prior meetings at the Force. Fargo (2-1-0, 4 pts.) split its pair of USHL contests last weekend. After a 1-0 shootout victory in Omaha Friday, the Force suffered a 5-2 setback in Sioux City the following evening.

Omaha Lancers - 1-1-1, 3 pts. (T-2nd Western Conference)
- G Alex Lyon registered a shutout in his Lancers debut last Friday turning aside all 18 Fargo shots. Unfortunately, the Baudette, Minnesota native suffered the 1-0 shootout defeat after three saves on four Fargo attempts in the shootout. Dating back to the preseason, Lyon hasn't allowed a goal in his last two starts.
- F Eli Lichtenwald registered his first career USHL goal with the opening salvo in last Sunday's 2-1 victory over Sioux City. Lichtenwald's first career USHL goal came on his first career USHL shot.
- F Myles McCauley and D Scott Dornbrock each registered their first career USHL points with assists in Sunday's 2-1 win over Sioux City. Dornbrock's first career USHL point came on his first career USHL shift.
- F Jimmy Murray will be very familiar with his surroundings this weekend. Murray played in 33 games for Fargo a season ago recording 12 points (4 goals, 8 assists) in a Force sweater.

Saturday, Oct. 15 @ Fargo Force - 2-1-0, 4 pts. (2nd Western Conference)
- F Blake Clarke tallied his first career USHL goal last Saturday in Fargo's 5-2 loss at Sioux City. At 15 years old, Clarke is the youngest player on Fargo's roster.
- F Austin Farley has accounted for half of Fargo's goal production through three games this season. Farley has scored three of the Force's six goals tallied in regulation and landed one of two decisive shootout goals for Fargo.
- G Zane Gothberg has started all three of Fargo's games this season. The University of North Dakota recruit is 2-1 on the young season with a 2.86 goals-against average coupled with a .905 save percentage.
- After Fargo's power play erupted for four goals in a 5-4 opening night shootout victory at Des Moines, the Force's man advantage was held in check last weekend going scoreless in six opportunities.
- Before facing the Lancers Saturday, the Force will have their home opener Friday vs. the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
