CHIVAS USA TO KICK OFF 2010 SEASON ON FRIDAY, MARCH 26 AGAINST COLORADO RAPIDS: With less than two weeks to go until the first match of the 2010 season, Chivas USA continues to gear up for the Friday, March 26 Season Opener against the Colorado Rapids at The Home Depot Center. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will feature veteran Red-and-White stars Jonathan Bornstein and Sacha Kljestan, as well as newcomers like Osael Romero and Michael Umaña. Fans looking to head out to the first match can purchase Season Seats, which start at just $10 per game, or a variety of other ticket packages, all available at cdchivasusa.com or by calling 1-877-CHIVAS-1. NEW RED-AND-WHITE DEFENDER MICHAEL UMAÃA PRESENTATION ON TUESDAY: Recent signing Michael Umaña, a defender with World Cup experience on the Costa Rica National Team, will be presented to media and fans at a Tuesday press conference in Anaheim. The event, which starts at 1:30 p.m. PT at Costa Rica Restaurant at 2500 West Lincoln Ave in Anaheim, will feature Umaña, along with Chivas USA Head Coach MartÃn Vásquez and President and CEO Shawn Hunter. FINAL PRESEASON MATCH THIS SATURDAY AT HARDER STADIUM IN SANTA BARBARA: Chivas USA will play its final preseason exhibition match this Saturday, March 20 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, squaring off against Western Conference rival Houston Dynamo. Part of the proceeds from the match will go to Direct Relief International to help aid their efforts for the earthquake victims in Haiti and Chile. Tickets are on sale at local Santa Barbara merchant stores with prices as follows: $10 for children under 12 and students with valid ID, $15 General Admission, $20 for Reserved. HEAD COACH MARTÃN VÃSQUEZ TO APPEAR ON FOX FOOTBALL FONE-IN NEXT MONDAY: Just four days before the first game of the 2010 season, Chivas USA Head Coach MartÃn Vásquez will appear on Fox Soccer Channel's 'Fox Football Fone-In' show next Monday, March 22, at 5:00 p.m. PT. The two-hour long, live show features hosts Nick Webster and Eric Wynalda, and covers everything from MLS to world and international soccer. Vásquez will appear during the show's first hour and will answer questions on Chivas USA, MLS, and his experience with European club Bayern Munich. Tune into Fox Soccer Channel next Monday, March 22 at 5:00 p.m. PT to see Vásquez on FFF!
CHIVAS USA U-18'S WIN THIRD GAME IN LAST FOUR MATCHES: The Chivas USA U-18 Team picked up its third win in four games on Saturday, earning a 4-2 win over Pateadores at Cerritos College. The U-18's were coming off a 6-0 victory over LAFC Chelsea on March 6, and have moved up to third place in the SoCal Division of the Development Academy with a 4-4-0 record in the division and . The Chivas USA U-16's continue strong, and despite a 1-0 loss to Pateadores on Saturday, the team remains in second place in the SoCal Division with a 4-3-1 record, and a 9-4-4 overall record. The rosters and full schedule for the Chivas USA U-18 and U-16 teams, which compete in the 2009-10 U.S. Soccer Development Academy, can be found here for the U-18's, and for the U-16 Team here.
