Weekly Preview: Steel to Play on Home Ice for First Time in 2019-2020

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - The Steel preseason slate rolls on this weekend as the club faces off against the Muskegon Lumberjacks in a two-game set including the team's first preseason home game on Saturday night. The clubs will matchup at L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Mich., on Friday at 5:30 pm CT followed by a Saturday night showdown at Fox Valley Ice Arena with a 7:05 pm CT puck drop.
Tickets for Saturday's game are priced at just $10 (excluding suites and Budweiser Lounge) and parking is always free at Fox Valley Ice Arena.

The Lumberjacks and Steel met in the Eastern Conference Final a season ago with the Steel taking the series, 3-1 in four games.
The 2019-20 Steel training camp roster is compiled of 27 players including 16 forwards, seven defensemen and four goaltenders. The club returns 11 players who appeared in at least one game for Chicago a year ago. Six players join the Steel with prior USHL experience in addition to seven USHL rookies.
Two of the top five scorers from last season's Clark Cup Final team return this year in forwards Mathieu De St. Phalle and Gunnarwolfe Fontaine. De St. Phalle, the University of Wisconsin commit, registered 47 points (12 goals, 35 assists) in 51 contests while Fontaine, committed to Northeastern University, added 43 points (20 goals, 23 assists) in 60 appearances.
The Chicago blue line will look familiar with five members of last year's squad. Jimmy Dowd Jr. (Penn State University), Luke Reid (University of North Dakota), John Spetz (University of Connecticut), Uula Ruikka (University of Miami OH) and Owen Power (University of Michigan) are all set for another season with Chicago.
As of September 10th, the Steel roster includes 19 NCAA Division 1 commitments and nine first-year NHL Draft-eligible players.
Rosters are subject to change and players are not guaranteed to dress during the exhibition contests.
