Chicago Steel News Release

GENEVA, ILLINOIS - Sporting a 5-1-0-0 record (10 pts) and as the first team in the Eastern Conference to reach the 10-point plateau this season, the Steel return home for their first back-to-back home games of the season.

Friday's contest offers the first 500 fans in attendance a Steel Magnet Schedule presented by 95.9 The River as Chicago meets Muskegon in a rematch of the 2019 Eastern Conference Final.

Saturday's Retro Video Game Night includes a throwback for video game enthusiasts plus interactive activities for spectators such as 'Name that Retro Video Game,' an on-ice 'Pac-Man Race,' and 'Name that NHL 94 Player,' in addition to a Mario Brothers costume race during the game.

The first of six Raising Cane's Kids Day deals is available for Saturday's contest against Team USA, a package for children ages 12 and under that includes a red-zone ticket, a Steel 20th season drawstring bag and a Raising Cane's kids combo card for just $10.

The Muskegon Lumberjacks (2-4-0-0, 4 pts) head to Fox Valley Ice Arena on Friday for the first time this season. The Lumberjacks are led by Yekaterinburg, Russia, native Danil Gushchin. The forward registered 36 points (16G, 20A) in 51 appearances a season ago and ranks second on the team in scoring this year with three goals and four assists. Gushchin earned a 'B' rating on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary Players to Watch list.

The Steel host Team USA (2-4-0-0, 4 pts) on Saturday. The U17 team includes University of Michigan-bound defenseman Luke Hughes who has tallied three goals in as many appearances this year for the club.

Chicago enjoyed a 2-1-0-0 road trip this week capped by a historic 10-goal outburst on Monday against the Youngstown Phantoms. It was the first time the Steel scored 10 goals in a game since October 3, 2009. Chicago is the only team in the league with all skaters (excluding goaltenders) registering at least a point this season.

On Oct. 7, NHL Central Scouting released its preliminary 'Players to Watch' list with five current Steel players and five Chicago affiliates appearing on the rankings. Full details on the Steel players included in the NHL Central Scouting list can be found here.
