ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter this week's action with a 21-19-2-1 record (12-10-0-1 at home, 9-9- 2-0 on the road, 0-2 in overtime, 3-1 in shootouts) and tied for sixth place in the EASTERN CONFERENCE...The ICE, who have played the second most games in the WHL (43), will play three more games this week (two home - one away) before only playing five games (two home - three away) for the remainder of the month of January.

TIP THE ICE: On Tuesday, January 14 fans are invited to come down to EAST SIDE MARIO'S in CRANBROOK to be served by the ICE...The players will be waiting tables to raise money for the KOOTENAY ICE EDUCATION FUND from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.

DID YOU KNOW: KOOTENAY is eighth in the WHL in overall power play (23.0%)...The ICE are tied for 11 in the LEAGUE in overall penalty killing (79.0%) ...SAM REINHART has been named to TEAM CHERRY for the BMO CHL/NHL TOP PROSPECTS GAME in CALGARY, ALBERTA on January 15...TIM BOZON recorded his 200 WHL career point on January 5 against MEDICINE HAT...KYLE O'CONNOR needs to play in one more game to reach 100 in his WHL career...JAGGER DIRK needs to record three more assists to reach 100 in his WHL career...JAEDON DESCHENEAU, who is tied for third in the WHL in goals scored with 28, is tied for sixth in the League in points with 54 (28-26-54 )... DESCHENEAU is fourth in power play goals with 13...SAM REINHART, who is tenth in the WHL in points with 50 (16-34-50), is tied for sixth in the League in assists with 34.

TRANSACTION / INJURY: KOOTENAY traded 16-year-old Forward HUDSON ELYNUIK to the SPOKANE CHIEFS in exchange for 18-year-old Defenseman TYLER KING on December 31...Defenseman TANNER FAITH will be out of the ICE line up four to six months with an upper body injury.

ONE YEAR AGO: After 43 games of the 2012-2013 season the ICE were 17-25-1-0, after 44 games were 18-25-1-0 and after 45 games were 19-25-1-0.
