
Weekend back-to-back rematches as Jax take on Sting and Mammoth

The LumberJax (3-4) have a double header against Arizona and Colorado this weekend entering a crucial point in the season. The Jax face the Sting (4-3) tomorrow in the Rose Garden for a rematch of the expansion team's first-ever game in Arizona, where they lost 12-7. The Jax will then face the Mammoth (5-3) in Denver after the Jax beat Colorado 12-11 in the franchise's first home game back in January. This weekend feature's two of the team's western division rivals with a lot at stake as the playoff race begins.
Today the Jax acquired Ryan Marshall from the Calgary Roughnecks in exchange for fourteen-year NLL veteran Ted Dowling and a conditional 2006 Entry Draft selection. Marshall is a first-year player and has appeared in three games for the Roughnecks this season while picking up one assist and eight loose balls. The transition player will dress for the Jax starting on Sunday against Colorado. He attended Duke University receiving a finance degree and currently lives in Denver, CO. With the LumberJax, Ted Dowling collected 16 points (six goals, ten assists) and 33 loose balls. The forward is the 5th leading scorer in the history of the National Lacrosse League and through his career he has played in 164 games, scored 365 goals, registered 280 assists and scooped up 730 loose balls. Dowling has unfortunately been plagued by a knee injury this season.
Fans can listen to the LumberJax against Arizona game on KCMD 970AM (taped delay after the Winter Hawks game). The Jax game in Colorado will be broadcast live on Sunday at 6p on KPDX TV49 (UPN).
