
Wednesday Is Waterloo Hockey Day

Waterloo, Iowa-The City of Waterloo has officially proclaimed Wednesday, May 23rd to be Waterloo Black Hawks Hockey Day as the Hawks travel to Green Bay to meet the Gamblers in the fifth and deciding game of the United States Hockey League's Clark Cup Championship series.
Mayor Buck Clark presented the proclamation Monday during a meeting of the City Council. Several Black Hawks players and staff members were in attendance for the announcement. Besides recognizing Waterloo's playoff success thus far, the official statement sought to ".commend and thank all who have been involved with the hockey program in our community throughout the years."
The City of Waterloo is also encouraging the community to wear Waterloo Black Hawks-themed clothing or colors on Wednesday. The full text of the proclamation is below.
Game Five of the Clark Cup Championship series is at the Resch Center Wednesday, beginning at 7:05. Fans in the Cedar Valley can follow all of the action with online video streaming provided through FastHockey (ushl.fasthockey.com) or on radio at 1650-AM, "The Fan."

Proclamation
Whereas, Waterloo is a city that loves hockey and is proud of the Waterloo Black Hawks Hockey Team; and
Whereas, the hockey tradition is very strong in our city and our citizens appreciate and enjoy good hockey; and
Whereas, this season commemorates the 50th year of hockey in Waterloo; and
Whereas, the team has had a great United States Hockey League season and successful run in the 2012 Clark Cup Championship series; and
Whereas, we commend and thank all who have been involved with the hockey program in our community throughout the years; and
Now Therefore, I, Buck Clark, Mayor of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, May 23, 2012 as
WATERLOO BLACK HAWKS HOCKEY DAY
in Waterloo, Iowa, in commemoration of the 50th season of hockey in our city, last day of the season playoffs and to encourage the citizens to show their support by wearing Waterloo Black Hawks Hockey gear.
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the official seal of the City of Waterloo to be affixed this 21st day of May, 2012.
