Corpus Christi IceRays News Release

Your Corpus Christi Rayz will be hosting a phone-bank at the American Bank Center from 11:00am-1:00pm on Tuesday afternoon in conjunction with "Pack the House for Charity" Night presented by the Caller-Times. The Rayz, along with representatives of four South Texas youth based organizations will be contacting businesses and organizations within the Coastal Bend community seeking their support for the February 26th event. The Rayz will host their inaugural "Pack the House For Charity" Night when they battle their archrivals, the Laredo Bucks at 7:00pm, Saturday. All members of the media are encouraged to attend the phone-bank as representatives from the Rayz and all four assisting organizations will be on hand.

"Pack the House for Charity" Night presented by the Caller-Times is the single largest fundraising event of the year by the Corpus Christi Rayz. On Saturday, February 26th, the Rayz will host the Laredo Bucks at the American Bank Center. The Rayz will attempt to set a new Corpus Christi hockey attendance record while at the same time helping to raise funds for four very deserving youth based organizations in the community. The Rayz have joined forces with the Coastal Bend Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Red Cross – Coastal Bend Chapter, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children and the Corpus Christi Youth Hockey Association for the Charity night. The Rayz will provide a cash grant and a portion of ticket sales to each of these groups.

Your Corpus Christi Rayz are currently in first place in the Southeast Division of the CHL's Southern Conference for a record 15th consecutive week. With only eleven games remaining (six at home) in the regular season the Rayz are battling both the Austin Ice Bats and Laredo Bucks for supremacy in the Southeast and an automatic playoff position. The Rayz are on the road this Tuesday and Thursday and return to Corpus Christi on Saturday night to host the Bucks.

Please make plans to be a part of a great night, a great event and a great cause. Tickets start for as little as $10 (plus a $1.50 facility fee) and are available at the American Bank Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. For more information, please call the Rayz at (361)814-PUCK.
