Waza Introduce First Members of 2010-11 Roster

The Detroit Waza, members of the Professional Arena Soccer League, announced today the first signees for the team's 2010-11 roster. The first fourteen players are a mixture of veterans from the Detroit Rockers and Ignition, returnees from last season's club, and some of the best young indoor soccer talent the Motor City has to offer.

The Waza will be led on the indoor pitch this season by the three Scicluna brothers: Dominic, a former member of the Detroit Rockers, who will serve as player/head coach, Mario, who in addition to his playing duties serves as team president, and Valentino, aka. Tino, another former member of the Rockers.

Costea "the Count" Decu, another Rockers veteran, joins Waza this season, and will not only serve as one of the team's top scoring threats, will also be the team's assistant coach.

They will be joined by defender Matt Johnson, a former assistant coach with the Detroit Ignition, Doug Rice, another member of the Ignition, and Rodrigo Gonzalez, who played three seasons for the Rockers.

Returnees from last season's Waza club include Niki Djokic, Ryan "Duck" Mallord, Scott Wright, Adam Nesbitt, and Kris Lyons.

The season's first newcomers are George McCatty and Aaron Byrd.

The Waza will kick off the 2010-11 PASL season on Saturday, November 13th when they will travel to Canton, OH to face the Ohio Vortex at 7:30PM. The Waza will open the home portion of their schedule on Sunday, December 5th at 4:30PM, when the Cincinnati Kings face the Waza at the Taylor Sportsplex.
