Louisville Lightning News Release

The Louisville Lightning Reserve Team has already faced some of the best competition in the region this season. Now coach Jason Harden and his team will host a rival familiar to soccer fans in Louisville. The University of Kentucky Club Team will travel to Mockingbird Saturday night for an exhibition against the Lightning Reserves. Kickoff is set for 6:30 PM and is free and open to the public.

The Lightning Reserves are quickly gaining confidence in their inaugural season this fall. The team finished second in the Hoosier Cup Tournament earlier this month, then several reserve players had the opportunity to play against the Lightning Pro Team last weekend in the 'Kick Cancer' event at Mockingbird Valley Sports Complex.

Now the Lightning Reserve Team will host the University of Kentucky Men's Club Soccer Team Saturday at Mockingbird Valley Sports Complex. The Wildcats opened their season in September, and the squad has recorded victories so far over Middle Tennessee State University, Morehead State University, Western Kentucky University, and Valdosta State University. The team has traveled to tournaments at the University of Florida and Clemson University already this fall.

Coach Harden will be looking to strengthen the squad Saturday night as the season gets into full swing in the coming weeks. Saturday's scrimmage is free and open to the public. Kickoff against the Wildcats begins at 6:30 PM at Mockingbird Valley Sports Complex.
