Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE (June 2, 2008) - The Milwaukee Wave's Summer Soccer Camp Program continues at full speed and the team is preparing to play its Silver Anniversary season beginning later this year in a new league.

Last Friday, the Major Indoor Soccer League dissolved, the first step in a restructuring that team owners believe will help lower costs and attract additional owner/operators. A decision on the future structure of the league will be made within a few weeks, according to Detroit Ignition owner/operator John Hantz.

Keith Tozer, head coach of the Milwaukee Wave, reiterated that the state's largest camp program will continue as usual, with the first camps set to begin June 9.

"While the league is going through a restructuring, our camps are in full swing, and we look forward to this being our best summer ever," Tozer said.

The MISL was created in 2001 after the National Professional Soccer League ceased operations. The Wave are the longest-running franchise in the sport, having been founded in 1984-85 in the American Indoor Soccer Association.

"We are considering structural changes that will bring us greater efficiencies, while also allowing long term growth and expansion of the League," Hantz said.
