Milwaukee Wave News Release

The Milwaukee Wave finished tied for first place in the regular season with the Baltimore Blast. Due to the season series (2-4) the Wave was seated in second place and therefore played the Missouri Comets in a best of three playoff series. The Wave dropped the first game in Missouri last Wednesday 11-5. Returning to Milwaukee on Sunday the Wave evened the series with a 20-18 win forcing a winner-take-all mini-game. The Wave's 5-2 win advances them to the championship game for the second consecutive year.

Baltimore and Milwaukee share a long history, dating back to the 1992-93 season when the teams played each other for the first time. The Wave leads the all-time regular season series, 45-28, though the Blast is 9-3 against the Wave in the postseason. The teams have combined to win nine of the last 13 league championships with Milwaukee winning four and Baltimore winning five.

The Milwaukee Wave professional indoor soccer team is the longest-running professional soccer team in the country. The Wave completed their 26th season by winning the Major Indoor Soccer League regular season championship. Their summer camp program is the largest team-operated program in the country.
